Welcome to the Auberge Walker Inn

The Auberge Walker Inn in Pictou invites you to experience the charm and elegance of a by-gone era.  The inn, a Registered Historical Building, achieves the perfect balance between the charm of a bed and breakfast and the privacy of an inn in a stylish setting.

The Inn itself was built originally in the 1870’s by James A. Stalker to house a general store on the ground floor, with living space on the subsequent three floors for both the family and the servants.   At that time he also had a bank and a crockery kiln in the building.  Two years later, he built the Scotia Bank beside the Inn.  Since then, this building has housed the town library, an MLA office, an insurance office, and apartments.  And common to buildings of this age, there is no elevator!
